Ridgeline Coffee Roasters is a six-person specialty roastery and taproom in Denver. We roast every batch with intent, cup together every Wednesday, and take care of each other's stations. We're looking for a Head Roaster to lead production and own our green bean buying — someone who knows the craft, keeps a clean ship, and shows up ready at 5am without being asked twice.

This is a hands-on role. You'll be the one who makes the calls on roast profiles, manages inventory from the farm gate forward, and sets the standard for quality across every bag that leaves the building. We're small enough that nobody is precious about mopping up, and experienced enough to let you run production your way.

Plan and execute daily roast production to meet wholesale and taproom demand
Develop and maintain roast profiles across our full green bean lineup
Lead green bean sourcing and purchasing: evaluate samples, build relationships with importers and farms, and manage inventory
Maintain roaster equipment and keep accurate production records
Hold quality standards across every batch — cupping, logging, and acting on what you find
Work with the team on new coffee launches and seasonal offerings
Keep the roastery clean, organised and compliant with food-safety standards
Participate in weekly team cuppings and contribute to our shared palate

Proven experience as a production roaster, ideally in a specialty coffee environment
Strong understanding of roast development, heat transfer and post-roast quality assessment
Experience with green bean evaluation and sourcing conversations
Reliable: you are an early riser by nature, not by effort
Comfortable working independently and making daily production decisions without hand-holding
Clean, methodical approach to your station and your records
Cafe or food-service background is a plus; attendance and character matter more than credentials
Cupping proficiency and the ability to communicate what you taste
