Data Scientist

KLBL Company LLC is looking for a Data Scientist to join our Information Technology team. You'll work on real data problems that directly impact our business decisions and product development. In this remote role, you'll build models, analyze datasets, and help teams understand what the data is telling us. You'll have the chance to work across different parts of the company, from identifying trends to solving specific technical challenges with data.

• Build and deploy machine learning models that solve actual business problems
• Clean, prepare, and explore datasets to understand data quality and patterns
• Write code in Python or R to perform statistical analysis and data modeling
• Create visualizations and reports that explain findings to non-technical stakeholders
• Work with product and engineering teams to define what questions data can answer
• Evaluate model performance and iterate on approaches based on results
• Document your methodology and findings so others can understand and reproduce your work
• Identify new opportunities where data science could improve operations or products

• Previous professional experience as a data scientist, data analyst, or similar role
• Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and modeling
• Strong understanding of statistics, probability, and machine learning fundamentals
• Experience building and evaluating predictive models
• Ability to work with SQL to query and manipulate data
• Comfortable presenting technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, economics) or equivalent professional experience
• Reliable internet connection and ability to work independently in a remote environment

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib
• Knowledge of deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Experience deploying models to production environments
• Background in A/B testing or experimental design
• Contributions to open-source data science projects
