Kestrel Facilities Group is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to lead and manage our maintenance operations across our sites in Leeds. You'll oversee day-to-day maintenance activities, coordinate our maintenance team, and ensure all facilities run smoothly and safely. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll split your time between direct supervision, technical problem-solving, and strategic planning of maintenance schedules.

Supervise and coordinate the daily work of maintenance staff, including task assignment and performance monitoring
Conduct routine inspections of building systems, equipment, and facilities to identify maintenance needs
Schedule preventive maintenance and coordinate emergency repairs to minimize downtime
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, equipment servicing, and facility conditions
Respond to maintenance requests and prioritize work based on urgency and impact
Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ordering as needed
Ensure all maintenance work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards
Train and mentor maintenance team members on procedures, safety protocols, and equipment use
Communicate with building occupants and other departments about maintenance activities and facility status
Prepare maintenance reports and budgets for management review
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues or escalate to specialist contractors when needed

Experience in facilities maintenance or building management
Proven experience supervising or leading a maintenance team
Knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance manuals
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Valid driving license
Commitment to health and safety standards in the workplace

Relevant qualifications such as NVQ in Facilities Management or similar
Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
Knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainability practices
First aid certification
