HVAC Service Technician

Henderson Mechanical Services is looking for an HVAC Service Technician to join our team in Dallas. You'll be the person our customers call when their heating or cooling systems break down, and you'll be responsible for diagnosing problems, performing repairs, and keeping systems running smoothly. This is a hands-on role where you'll work independently at customer sites across the Dallas area, managing your own schedule and building relationships with clients who depend on reliable service.

• Diagnose heating, cooling, and ventilation system problems using specialized diagnostic equipment and your technical knowledge
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems including filter changes, coil cleaning, refrigerant checks, and component inspections
• Repair or replace faulty components such as compressors, condensers, evaporator coils, thermostats, blower motors, and ductwork
• Install new HVAC systems in residential and light commercial properties, including ductwork assembly and system startup procedures
• Test systems after repairs or installation to ensure proper operation and customer safety
• Document all work completed, parts used, and time spent on each job for billing and service records
• Respond to emergency service calls during business hours and occasional after-hours situations
• Maintain your service vehicle, tools, and equipment in good working condition
• Communicate clearly with customers about problems found, repair options, and costs before proceeding with work
• Follow all safety protocols and EPA regulations when handling refrigerants and other hazardous materials

• EPA Section 608 certification (Type III minimum; Type I or Universal certification preferred)
• 2+ years of hands-on HVAC service experience
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly and work in confined spaces, attics, and crawlspaces
• Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work through problems systematically
• Reliable transportation and ability to manage multiple service calls per day
• Willingness to learn new systems and stay current with industry changes

• HVAC contractor license or apprenticeship certification
• Experience with commercial HVAC systems
• Familiarity with smart thermostats and building automation systems
• Previous customer service experience in a technical field
• Your own tools and diagnostic equipment
