HVAC Service Technician

Henderson Mechanical Services is looking for an HVAC Service Technician to join our team in Dallas. You'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heating and cooling systems for residential and commercial clients. This is hands-on work that requires technical skill, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to getting the job done right the first time.

• Diagnose heating and cooling system failures using diagnostic tools and customer descriptions
• Repair or replace compressors, condensers, evaporators, thermostats, and other HVAC components
• Perform routine maintenance on air conditioning and heating systems, including filter changes, refrigerant checks, and system inspections
• Install new HVAC systems in residential and commercial properties, following manufacturer specifications and local building codes
• Test systems after repairs or installation to ensure proper operation and efficiency
• Document all work completed, including parts used, labor time, and service notes
• Respond to emergency service calls during business hours and on-call rotations
• Communicate clearly with customers about what's wrong with their systems and what repairs are needed
• Maintain service vehicles and keep tools organized and ready for the next job
• Follow all safety protocols when working with refrigerants, electrical components, and at heights

• Valid EPA Section 608 certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
• 3+ years of hands-on HVAC service experience
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
• Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, and outdoor equipment locations
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Reliable transportation to job sites throughout the Dallas area
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and work in various weather conditions
• Strong communication skills and professional demeanor with customers
• Willingness to respond to emergency service calls as needed

• Experience with smart thermostats and modern HVAC control systems
• Commercial HVAC experience in addition to residential work
• Valid Texas HVAC contractor license or journeyman status
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs and system optimization
