Foy LLC is seeking a Manager of Layoffs to oversee workforce reduction initiatives with sensitivity, compliance, and operational efficiency. This remote position requires someone who can manage complex personnel transitions while maintaining company morale and legal adherence. You'll work directly with leadership to plan, communicate, and execute layoff procedures that protect both the organization and affected employees.

Develop and implement layoff plans in coordination with executive leadership and legal counsel
Ensure all workforce reductions comply with federal, state, and local employment laws
Prepare detailed documentation for each affected employee, including severance agreements and benefits information
Conduct individual separation meetings with departing employees in a respectful and professional manner
Coordinate final paycheck processing, accrued paid time off calculations, and benefits continuation (COBRA, health insurance)
Manage communication timelines and messaging for remaining staff to address concerns and maintain productivity
Maintain confidentiality throughout the process and handle sensitive personnel information securely
Track and report on layoff costs, severance expenses, and financial impacts
Serve as a point of contact for affected employees' questions about final compensation and benefits
Coordinate with HR to manage unemployment insurance claims and documentation
Document all decisions and communications to create a clear record for compliance purposes

5+ years of experience in human resources, employee relations, or workforce planning
Demonstrated experience managing layoffs, restructuring, or similar personnel transitions
Knowledge of employment law, including WARN Act requirements and state-specific regulations
Strong written and verbal communication skills for sensitive conversations
Ability to remain calm and empathetic in difficult situations
Proficiency with HR information systems and payroll software
High degree of discretion and ability to handle confidential information
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

PHR (Professional in Human Resources) or SHRM-CP certification
Experience with severance package negotiations
Familiarity with outplacement services and employee assistance programs
Background in change management or organizational development
