Supply Chain Officer

The Fire Department of Liberty Township is seeking a Supply Chain Officer to manage procurement, inventory, and logistics for our emergency services operations. This is a critical role that ensures our firefighters and paramedics have the equipment, materials, and supplies needed to respond effectively to emergencies. You'll work remotely while coordinating with field personnel, vendors, and department leadership to maintain optimal inventory levels and control costs. This position requires someone who understands the unique demands of emergency services and can manage supplies ranging from medical equipment to protective gear to vehicle maintenance parts.

• Manage procurement processes for all departmental supplies, equipment, and materials needed for firefighting and emergency medical response
• Monitor inventory levels across stations and facilities, identifying when stock needs to be reordered and ensuring adequate supplies for emergency operations
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating pricing and delivery terms that meet budget constraints
• Track spending on supplies and equipment, preparing reports for department leadership on expenditures and budget utilization
• Coordinate delivery and storage of large equipment purchases, including fire apparatus components and medical supplies
• Maintain accurate records of all inventory, including equipment maintenance schedules and equipment lifecycle tracking
• Work with station commanders and field personnel to understand supply needs and respond to urgent requests
• Ensure compliance with regulations regarding hazardous materials storage and handling
• Evaluate new products and suppliers to improve quality, reduce costs, or enhance operational efficiency
• Process purchase orders, invoices, and payment documentation according to department procedures

• 3+ years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or inventory control
• Demonstrated experience managing supplies for emergency services, healthcare, or similarly critical operations
• Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly with tracking multiple supply categories
• Ability to communicate clearly with both administrative staff and field personnel
• Understanding of budget management and cost control principles
• Knowledge of safety regulations related to emergency equipment and hazardous materials storage
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in supply chain or business preferred

• Experience with emergency services operations or firefighting/EMS environments
• Familiarity with government procurement procedures or municipal purchasing requirements
• Experience managing inventory for multiple locations or facilities
