Logistics administrator

The Fire Department of Liberty Township is seeking a Logistics Administrator to support our engineering and operations teams. In this remote position, you'll manage inventory, equipment tracking, supply ordering, and distribution for our fire suppression and emergency response operations. You'll work closely with field personnel and leadership to ensure we have the right equipment, in the right place, at the right time to support public safety operations.

• Maintain and update inventory records for firefighting equipment, apparatus parts, and operational supplies using our tracking systems
• Process purchase orders and manage vendor relationships to procure equipment and supplies within budget parameters
• Track equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs or replacements with vendors and internal teams
• Receive and organize incoming shipments, verify contents against orders, and distribute items to stations or departments
• Prepare inventory reports and alerts when stock levels fall below established minimums
• Coordinate with station commanders and field personnel to understand equipment needs and identify supply gaps
• Manage equipment loans and transfers between stations, maintaining accurate documentation
• Assist with budget planning for logistics and supply expenses
• Troubleshoot and resolve inventory discrepancies and supply chain delays
• Support special projects such as equipment upgrades or new apparatus outfitting

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in logistics, inventory management, supply chain, or warehouse operations
• Proficiency with inventory management software or similar systems
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to track multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Basic computer skills including email, spreadsheets, and database entry
• Clear communication skills to work effectively with remote and field-based teams
• Reliable internet connection and suitable home workspace for remote work

• Experience working in emergency services, government, or public safety environments
• Familiarity with fire service equipment and apparatus
• Knowledge of procurement processes and vendor management
• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
• Certification or training in supply chain management
