HVAC Service Technician

Brightline Heating & Cooling is a 25-person, locally owned family business serving Franklin County homeowners — not a franchise, not a call center. Our technicians are the face of the company on every service call, and we hire people who take that seriously.

We're looking for a dependable HVAC Service Technician to join our Columbus, Ohio team on residential service and maintenance calls. You'll work a weekday schedule out of our Columbus shop, with a one-in-four weekend on-call rotation. You drive a company van, explain problems to homeowners in plain English, fix things right the first time, and give honest recommendations — no pressure upselling, ever.

• Diagnose and repair residential heating, cooling, and ventilation systems across Franklin County
• Perform scheduled maintenance visits and safety inspections
• Communicate findings clearly to homeowners, including what the problem is, what you are doing about it, and what it will cost
• Keep a clean, organized company van and maintain your tools and equipment
• Complete accurate service records and work orders after each call
• Participate in a one-in-four weekend on-call rotation
• Represent Brightline professionally on every visit

• EPA 608 Universal certification (required before your first day)
• Valid Ohio driver's license with a clean driving record (required)
• Demonstrated experience diagnosing and repairing residential HVAC systems
• Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule across multiple daily calls
• Strong communication skills — you will be talking homeowners through technical problems in plain language
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to doing the job right the first time

• NATE certification (we offer paid training if you are working toward it)
• Experience with a range of equipment brands common in central Ohio residential installs
• Prior residential service route experience

• $24–$34 per hour depending on experience
• Company van and fuel card provided
• Weekday schedule with one-in-four weekend on-call rotation
• Overtime paid after 40 hours
