Bert's Auto Parts is looking for an AI Automation Engineer Intern to join our IT department in Kingston. In this role, you'll work on real automation projects that help our business run more efficiently. You'll get hands-on experience building and testing automation solutions, working with AI tools, and solving actual problems our team faces. Build and test automation scripts to streamline repetitive IT tasks and business processes
Work with Python, JavaScript, or similar languages to create tools that save our team time
Help integrate AI tools and APIs into our existing systems and workflows
Document your code and automation processes so other team members can understand and maintain your work
Test automation solutions to find and fix bugs before they reach production
Collaborate with IT staff and other departments to understand what processes need automation
Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback from senior engineers
Assist with monitoring automated processes to ensure they're running correctly
Research new automation tools and technologies that could benefit the company
Support the IT team with general technical tasks as needed

Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
Basic knowledge of at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript, Java, or similar)
Understanding of how APIs and integrations work
Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Good communication skills and ability to ask questions when stuck
Reliable and able to commit to the internship schedule

Experience with automation tools like Zapier, Make, or UiPath
Familiarity with AI tools like ChatGPT API or similar platforms
Previous internship or project experience with automation or scripting
Knowledge of SQL or database basics
Experience with version control systems like Git
Understanding of business processes and workflow optimization

Hands-on experience with real automation projects and AI tools
